As we come away from the great Idra of Parshas Naso in Zohar hakadosh, here are a few thoughts from sefer Ruach Dovid, perush on the Idra, by R' Dovid ben Moshe de'Medina (of Italy).

The 13 attributes of mercy can be divided into two sets of 8. The first 8 until "notzer chesed" and the second 8 from "rav chesed" down. Even though they overlap, it is a concept of a "beard inside a beard." Thus it says in Tehillim that the anointing oil "...descends on the beard, the beard of Aharon..." hinting to both sets mercy within the thirteen. The lower set corresponds to the eighth garments of the Cohen Gadol ("midosav") while the higher set is hidden (in the beard).

The reason tikun "venotzar chesed" contains  double (two sets of) midos, ("malchus of chochma" as well as "chesed of kesser") is because on that level there is no division between the masculine Kesser (in this context) and the feminine chochma (in this context). So they are considered one Tikun.

The reason the tikunim of chochma come before the the tikunim of kesser in the 13 midos is so as not to overwhelm the below in its revelation.

The reason we put the tefilin on our left hand (and covered etc) is because the ruach of Moshiach (ve'nacha alav...), the ruach of Atik that is "ma'arich af" to sweeten the judgments of the left side, is hidden there. During exile we are only able to wash netilas yadayim up until the wrist, since we are not yet able to reveal that level, to "wash up to there. So it remains hidden until the time to come.
