Also, to look like a prostitute, is that where you go to offer your services and is that where you go to look for one? Maybe it was abandoned at that point and was used for other purposes...

Rather, though, it seems like this was a positive thing since the whole story seems to be an act of piety with pure intentions from the two Tzadikim Yehudah and Tamar. Thus, Avrahams tent is an appropriate backdrop for what was actually taking place.
