The essence as is only grasped through playing an instrument and not with song.
A name, if specific, can refer to a light within a vessel, the name entirely represents that idea. These are like the miluyim: shem "Av", "Sag", "Ma" etc
The next level is "shimcha hagadol", your great name, which is a higher more generic concept of the essence of the one who is called by that name, and the lower particular names are derived from it. This level you can acknowledge with ones mouth: "tov le'hodos lashem", "brachos ve'hoda'os leshimcha ha'gadol" etc
However, the highest level is "Shimcha Elyon", your "exalted" name. This refers to the idea that the person, in his essence, responds to their name when called but the name itself does not describe this essence at all. On this level your mouth is insufficient to praise and you need a musical instrument, "lezamer leshimcha Elyon."
