The verse "it is better to have a meal of greens in an atmosphere of love than a fat Ox with contention. If there is no love than the Ox comes "to lick up the greens". The hatred awakens fighting, and harsh judgments, but love conceals all transgressions.

Sharei Gan Eden 108

In context of parsha Balak the Ox of hatred beguiled Balak into awakening judgments on Israel, he offered up oxen on the divine table - "par va'ayil bamizbeach", however he was right to fear the "greens" - "yerek" of bnei Yisrael, since our tents were filled with love, "ma tovu ohalecha" and Bilam's curses turned to blessing and our sins were "covered" by love.

Perhaps there is also a hint to the "zeronim" of Chanania, Mishael and Azarya.
