"Yarden Yericho" refers to the Jordan river that is "yar-den", "yored mi'Dan." The mouth of the river coming from the portion of the tribe of Dan in the north of Israel.
"Dan" means "judgment". This level, then, corresponds to "smelling certainty" - "morach vadayin" that's our sages say of Moshiach (on the verse "veharicho beyiras Hashem... Velo le'mare einav yishpot"- he will smell fear of Hashem ... and not judge by what's before his eyes).
This is the only city that Hashem actually wanted spies sent to, as we see with Yehoshua, since this is the essence of the redemptive state of the land of Israel.
